My Personal Beliefs and Interests:
I believe that everyone has the capacity to reach for the wholeness of one's mind, body and soul. My own personal journey of overcoming my past childhood traumas through therapeutic work and support, inspired me as a counselor to specialize in trauma. I look forward to every day as a counselor, helping and inspiring others so that they can begin to hope for the possibilities of growth and healing in their own lives.
About My Clients:
Are you struggling at home, work or school? Are you facing stressful or painful events in your life or simply need someone to openly listen? I work with individuals who have anxiety, depression, substance abuse, mood disorders, dual diagnoses and PTSD. My goal as a counselor is to provide a confidential setting while establishing a trusting connection with you so together, we can explore pathways to your own health and well-being.
My Background:
In addition to my years in counseling, I have worked in the foster care system helping to reunite families, and in the educational system guiding students in their studies including career and college choices. I am a graduate of the University of Alabama’s Rehabilitation Counseling program, and my graduate study was focused in the area of substance abuse, which I have multiple years of experience in.Interventions and Approach:
My approach to counseling includes different modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Mindfulness and Lifespan Integration (LI). I work with each individual to design a personal plan to help them find their pathway to wholeness.
